Emily Maye is a highly accomplished photographer and director based between New York and Santa Barbara.
Emily is known for her unique approach to capturing the humanity and beauty in athletes’ lives and disciplines. Born and raised in Southern California, she grew up surrounded by music and movement, immersing herself in ballet at her mother’s school. This early exposure to the arts and her passion for narrative led her to develop an obsession with capturing the essence of athletes and the underlying humanity they embody.
As a photographer, Emily seeks to go beyond the typical finish line shots and instead focuses on the nuance, intimacy, and depth of experience felt by her subjects. She often takes a behind-the-scenes approach, delving into the daily lives and training of athletes to tell their stories authentically.
Emily has photographed a wide range of talent, including renowned athletes Serena Williams, Usain Bolt, Jayson Tatum, Damien Lillard, Trae Young, Ryan Garcia, Tua Tagovailoa, Sydney McLaughlin, Alexander Zverev, DeAndre Hopkins, Justin Verlander, Steve Nash, Julie Ertz, Neen Williams, Mutaz Barshim, Madison Keys, and Gervonta Davis, among others.
Her impressive list of clients includes major sports and fitness brands like Nike, Adidas, Lululemon, Tracksmith, Rapha, The North Face, Gatorade, Garmin, Ford, Uber, Whoop, Powerade, Fila, Puma, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Merrell, Wilson, and District Vision.
