Sam Hofman is presenting a new body of work in an exhibition, Synthetic Flora, alongside Andrew Stellitano at Studio 1.1 in Shoreditch from the 21st until the 26th of September!
Synthetic Flora looks to visualise the chemical synthesis of scent designed to imitate nature.
From cleaning product to haute perfumery we surround ourselves with ever more vibrant, potent and stylised fragrance. Exploring this abstraction of nature through manufacture, we have created free flowing organic forms that reference nature in shape but their iridescent reflection is exaggerated more neon than natural.
Celebrating the hyper-real imagined flora which these manufactured fragrances reference.’
