Into the Flow is a new personal project by Jean-Yves featuring stills, motion and gifs. This innovative approach captures the rhythmic flow of the athlete’s stride within a single frame, providing an authentic portrayal of movement.
The starting point of this project was for an advertising campaign. The agency asked to have a full golf swing in motion blur. This is something that is not possible to capture in camera during the day. The photo will be overexposed, so I started to look for alternative technical options. I developed a cool technique that I used for this personal project.
For this project I worked with a pro runner coach, Sean Fortune. Sean is running everyday in New-York. His day starts at 5 am with some coaching sessions in central park. I love also shooting this kind of motion photography to capture the energy of the athlete.
