Ollie Hirst was commissioned by Nature, to illustrate their article about the brain, exploring how neuroscientists are constantly discovering new information about how the brain works. Research shows that the brian’s neurons are firing more erratically than previously thought, and how there is a neuron drift in activity, which inspired Ollie to use the tracked neuron activity within his illustration.
