Launching from the base of the monolith that is Beacon Rock in the Columbia River Gorge I jumped onto a boat with Columbia Land Trust to photograph a wormwood planting, a native plant to the area, on Pierce Island.  The crew primarily consisted of volunteers, geared up with their Hydroflasks and packed lunches, to dig, plant, and water the baby wormwoods.
