In Dan’s own words,
Thanks to the lovely folks at the FT’s HTSI Magazine, I recently got to savour the sights and sounds of a day at the races, Ascot style.
Although there was plenty of fabulous equine action to be had, an awful lot of effort seemed to be put the into the steady consumption of Prosecco and warm lager, with a little betting thrown in for good measure. As guests of the Royal Ascot Racing Club, we were privy to the more VIP side of this horsy World where, even though it was posher, just seemed to have swapped prawn sandwiches for foie gras and Fosters for Dom Perignon, with the overall impression being strangely the same. Nice horses though.
