Dan recently teamed up with the Sunday Telegraph to photograph English footballs only Cheerleading Squad ‘The Crystals’.
“Selhurst Park on a sodden, freezing Saturday did not seem like the most auspicious of conditions for shooting a gaggle of barely dressed cheerleaders. But what troopers they were. There was a home game that day, so everything was rather fraught, with our two hour shoot being reduced to half an hour, but icy wind and driving rain are a good motivator for speed and efficiency. Cheerleader in chief, Stacey, barked her commands and the ladies duly obeyed. It was all over in the blink of an eye, or the shake of a pompom, but there was just enough time for young Will, my assistant, to fall just a little bit in love. Sweet.”
