Vlora, Albania

Dan Burn-Forti

“Rather unexpectedly, I found myself on a shoot in deepest Albania a few weeks ago.  It was very hot and it was rather strange.  As the shots I was doing needed some palm trees to put in the background, I went for a wander around our local town of Vlora in search of some.  And what a fine town it was.  Apart from the requisite palm trees, there was all sorts of tasty oddness for me to snap, with highlights including geriatric swimmers, a spooky theme park, some rather peculiar public art and a smashed up hearse. I’m not sure how representative of Albania Vlora is, but on first impressions, I’m thinking I might need to go back.”
